Martin

Martin Skold is a writer and scholar on various aspects of statecraft and U.S. policy. A practitioner in the field of U.S. national security, he has served in national security and policy roles in the U.S. counterterrorism community, as a staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives, and on political campaigns. He has written on U.S. national security policy in numerous publications, including The American Interest, War on the Rocks, The Bulwark, Contemporary Voices (the international relations journal of the University of St. Andrews), and the Georgetown Security Studies Review. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC, and achieved his PhD in international relations from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where he also taught international relations at the undergraduate level. The views expressed in this book are his own, and not those of any employer past or present, though he hopes they may be of use. He and his wife, Christina Goodlander, live in the Washington, DC, area except when on the road and enjoy traveling, exploring places where history happened, and occasionally making some of it themselves.
